The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines

The Malay Chronicles, released in Malaysia as “Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa” is one of the most awaited movie in Malaysia thus far. It is an adventure feature film set against the backdrop of ancient Malay, Roman and Chinese civilizations. It tells the tale of the journey of Merong Mahawangsa escorting a Roman prince to wed a beautiful Chinese princess during the 2nd century.

The film stars Stephen Rahman Hughes as Merong Mahawangsa, a descendant of Alexander the Great, who escorted Prince Marcus Carprenius (Gavin Stenhouse) of the Roman Empire to Langkasuka to marry Princess Meng Li Hua (Jing Lusi) from the Han Dynasty of China. He fought off a troop of enemies in process and was pronounced the first king of Langkasuka (later Kedah) for his heroic effort.

This movie was release on March 10th, 2011 in the U.S last month but it is still probably showing in selected theaters (somewhere!).
