ATTENTION: If anyone can tell me who the two people are in the picture above then that would be great! I would love to give them the credit they deserve. You might even get a surprise from us!

I don’t cosplay. However, I have mad respect for people who put in all the time and effort that they do into their cosplays. I attended my first convention a little over a year ago (Anime Expo 2010 xD) and was in shock at what I saw. I have never seen so many people in costume before (aside from Halloween). It was weird at first but as I kept going to more and more conventions and talking different cosplayers, my interest grew. It helped me to understand a little as to why they do what they do. If you asked me now, I would still tell you that I wouldn’t cosplay but hey, that could change next year!

Enough about me and my thoughts though, this article is about a documentary that is in the works called My Other Me, a documentary on cosplay following three cosplayers who take us on a journey through the art of cosplay, what comes out of it, and what cosplay means to them. I watched the trailer and I’m hooked. This isn’t your typical Hollywood movie. This is a film about real people, real interests, and about a community that I believe is misunderstood. Check out the trailer below!

This film is still in the works. Check out their website at MyOtherMeTheMovie.com for ways in which you can help make this film possible!
