I had made plans with my friends last week to go eat at Banana Bay for dinner but one of them suggested that we try out Ichi Ichi Fusion Shabu & Tempura instead. Seeing as how none of us had ever been there before, we thought “hey, why not? It’s new and different.” We got seated at a table by the door. The booths were huge! Each side was big enough to fit up to four people but only two were able for eating purposes.
The menu contained a variety of soup bases and meats that you can choose from. Most of them were spicy so I picked the sukiyaki soup base instead (I can’t stand spicy foods =( so non-Asian of me, haha) along with the Angus beef ribeye. With that, it came with some cabbage, mushrooms, fish meat that was stuffed into a bamboo tube, tofu, rice, and a fish ball with fish eggs in it. On top of that, you get their amazing sauce buffet with 18 different ingredients for you to choose from; you get to make your own sauces! Below are some pictures taken from Yelp users to give you a better view of what it looked like.
This is the beef with corn miso soup set.
This is the sauce bar where you can get as creative as you want! Oh, and did I mention that it’s all-you-can-eat? Get as creative as you want and as much as you want! Can’t get any better than that, right??
Yelpers gave this place a 4 out of 5 star rating. Personally, I’d give them a 3.5 out of 5 star rating. There wasn’t anything bad about the place or food but there wasn’t anything fantastic about it either. Also, I burned my teeth, tongue, and throat trying to drink the soup (cries) but I’ll definitely come back again to try the other soup bases, sauces, and meats!
