Dragon Ball Online (DBO)

Although this news is rather old but there are official news that Dragon Ball Online is going to be released this year by Shanda Games, which is one of the largest MMO publishers from China. When I mentioned, being released, it is being released over in China! (and you thought!) Hopefully the Western version comes out to us soon but it is still TBA! Asian countries always seems to get all the awesome games before all of us. The Korean version has already been released and is playable but there are some restrictions unless you have connections to the Korean community.

Now there was a rumor saying that four Chinese online game companies were competing for the license of Dragon Ball Online in China, including Shanda Games, Tencent, 9you and Mttang, but the recent rumor unveiled that only Shanda Games and Tencent were still holding on this. Now the answer is Shanda Games made it to the end.

What’s worth mentioning is that Shanda Games also has acquired the license of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV last year, so the game will also enter China in the near future.

Now there are actually 4  publishers for DBO, CJ Internet Corporation, Shanda Games, Namco Bandai Games, Cayenne Tech. Beta testing was suppose to begun in 2007 but it was delayed until last year 2010! There are more other misc news but we just want to play!..  From the looks of the screenshots, game play, Dragon Ball Online should be a pretty awesome free online game!
