Charice to Star in Hollywood Movie ‘Here Comes the Boom’

Charice Pempengco has been cast for an upcoming movie in Hollywood called, “Here Comes the Boom,” which is a is an action-comedy film produced by Sony Pictures and it will star Henry Winkler, Kevin James and Salma Hayek. According to Variety, Frank Coraci (The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Around the World in 80 Days, Click) is directing from a script by Kevin James and Allan Loeb.

The story centers on a teacher who moonlights as a mixed martial arts fighter in order to save his school’s music program and Charice is reportedly playing the role of Malia, one of the students in the movie.

Now who in the word is Charice? If you have not heard of Charice Pempengco, here is a quick summary (Wikipedia), she was made famous by YouTube and named by Opera to be the Most Talented Girl in the World. Her first big screen appearance was in Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel. Also she has appeared in the hit TV Show Glee and has won multiple awards and even being the first Asian singer in history to land in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart.
