San Diego is definitely in for a treat this coming September 17th, 2011! So mark your calender for the AMP Music Festival which will be the launch of the Asian American Music Festival in San Diego. So if you are in the San Diego area or do not mind the drive/flight there that weekend, be sure to check out the festival that will be going on the entire day. We are proud to announce the coming of AMP Music Festival, San Diego’s first API music festival, a multi-faceted art and music event which focuses the spotlight on our many amazing local and national Asian American artists. We are excited to be able to create this musical experience for you , for the fans of music and for the love of music, with the aim of creating art and music scholarships and educational programs.
The AMP Music Festival is an all-day event taking place on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Market Creek Plaza. Enjoy and discover our talented musical artists who will entertain you with nine hours of awesome music on two stages. Explore the festival ground starting with our visual art space featuring local visual artists. We also have food booths to sate your hunger and a beer garden for those who prefer libations with their music. Of course, you must be 21+ to access the beer garden. Otherwise, the festival is all ages, with tickets currently at $20, and $30 on the day of the event.
The AMP Music Festival is easily accessible via the 805-South , and is located at 404 Euclid Avenue, San Diego, CA 92114. If you prefer not to drive, you can always take the San Diego MTS Trolley. The festival is right across from the Euclid Avenue Station.
The AMP Music Festival is made possible with the partnership of the Asian Business Association Community Foundation, and aims to acheive the following objectives:
- Raise awareness and funds for the ABA Community Foundation to provide arts and music scholarships
- Provide local and regional artists an opportunity to perform at a venue with diverse audiences
- Showcase the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) American talent in contemporary music
- Encourage programs in music and culture and foster music education and interest to San Diegans
- Revitalize and build a stronger community through the celebration of music and art
