Japan Festival Chicago

The 30th annual Japan Festival planned to be held on June 8 and 9, 2013  is presented by Mid America Japanese Club and Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Chicago in partnership with the district 214 Community Education. The main purpose of the Japan Festival is to introduce Japanese Culture to local communities. It was 31 years ago, a very small Japan festival was held at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe for the first time to promote their new Japanese Garden. Over the years, the festival became one of their main annual events there. 8 years ago, the festival moved to the Forest View Education Center in Arlington Heights. This year, the festival will be held at Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove Village, IL. Our festival is open to public for free admission. Over 6,000 people visited the Japan Festival 2011. There was no Japan festival in 2011 because we held the fund raising event for the northern Japan earthquake and Tsunami relief instead. The 30th Japan Festival is supported by the Consulate General of Japan, the Village of Elk Grove Village, Japan America Society of Chicago and Japanese American Council
