One_Piece-2010

Do you like the highly popular anime Bleach? Or Naruto?  Well then, you’ll probably enjoy the anime “One Piece”!!

Consequently I actually got into this anime, call “One Piece” back in 2009.  I had seen it before when fox still had their Saturday morning cartoons going on, I believe it was called  ”Fox kids” or something similar to that witty title. I believe  it’s call 4Kids Entertainment now. When it was on an American network, it only aired from 2003-2007 before it got canceled. I believe one of the causes that led to the show’s cancellation was the awful cuts they do to animes, similar to what they did to dragon ball Z, cutting out scenes and erasing blood effects, just to be able to air it and get it approved by the FCC’s rules for a PG kid TV show [Lame]. Which caused the anime to have less effectiveness to the american society/viewers then they did with foreign nation. Of course this anime, like most animes, started off as a manga, before it got popular enough to make it into an anime series. That of course is a good thing, since today it has

produced over 470 episodes and published over 59 volumes of material readings. It may have been cancelled among the United States, but I assure you it is still ongoing in Japan, and has been since 1997 -present day. Hopefully it will stay that way till the voyage of this grand series is complete.

So what is this anime all about you ask? Well, I’ll tell you, it’s about pirates! (I won’t go into too much details) It’s about a boy name Monkey D. Luffy, who set out in his journey to become “KING of the PIRATES!”. How you ask? By finding this grand treasure call “One Piece”, and that’s how the title came to be for this anime. Along Luffy’s travels, he seeks out companionship for his crew that he makes, call the “Straw Hat Pirates”.  What’s great about this protagonist is that, unlike most piracy character out in the sea, Luffy and his crew assist citizens rather then rampage and plunder towns. As the journey progressed Luffy’s crew meets abundance of villains and predicaments throughout their voyage but always triumph towards the end. This anime is generally great for laugher and fun, it is of course about a group of individual setting sail for adventure and the pursuit of free living. [What I mean about free living, is mainly living without a care, a pursuit of freedom.] At times this anime can also be dramatic, depending on the individual point of view, but still great to watch. This anime is a very fantastic and enjoyable entertainment/show. I would Highly recommend watching it for yourself, and hope that you will enjoy it as much as I do.
