The 400 Million Dollar Monkey King

Being a “King” just is not enough for some people, especially if you are the Monkey King! We are actually talking about the production cost of the new Monkey King movie. You really thought there was a 400 million dollar monkey out there, didn’t you? Well, you could probably look at all the furry details and forget all about the money because this movie will be coming to you in 3D!

This movie will be the second most expensive Asian cinematic project since Red Cliff from John Woo in 2008. The production involves special effect artist from Hollywood and a pretty big name cast including Chow Yun Fat, Aaron Kwok, Joe Chen, Peter He, Kelly Chen and many others that will be confirmed this month. Filming has already begun in Beijing and the entire confirmed cast will be announced in the middle of this month.
